Accessibility checkers compared
These pages set Curbcut next to other accessibility checkers people often consider. Each states only what the vendor's own public pages say, with a link and the date we read them, and what Curbcut offers on the same points. Prices and features change; check the vendor's page before you decide.
Curbcut is one rule set on four surfaces: a browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, an extension for VS Code, a WordPress plugin and a web app that scans whole sites on a schedule. Its checks use the open-source axe-core engine with our own explanations and fix steps.
| Tool | Browser extension | Editor extension | WordPress plugin | Scheduled site scans | Lowest listed paid price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Curbcut | yes | VS Code | yes | web app | Pro $49 per year; web app from $29 per month |
| axe DevTools | yes | yes (axe Accessibility Linter) | no | not on the plans page | Pro $60 per user per month |
| WAVE | yes | no | no | no (points to Pope Tech) | API credits from $0.04 each |
| Pope Tech | no | no | no | yes | Team $30 per month billed monthly |
| Equalize Digital Accessibility Checker | no | no | yes (WordPress only) | inside WordPress | Professional $190 per year |
"No" means the vendor's pages we read do not list it. Sources and dates are on each page.

A note on automated checks
Automated tools, ours included, find only part of all WCAG failures. Whatever tool you use, test with a keyboard and a screen reader as well, and do not read a clean automated result as proof that a page is accessible.
