Curbcut

Curbcut and WAVE compared

Last updated

WAVE is a suite of web accessibility evaluation tools by WebAIM: an online checker, browser extensions and an API.

Curbcut is one rule set on four surfaces: a browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, an extension for VS Code, a WordPress plugin and a web app that scans whole sites on a schedule. Its checks use the open-source axe-core engine with our own explanations and fix steps.

Side by side

A note on automated checks

Automated tools, ours included, find only part of all WCAG failures. Whatever tool you use, test with a keyboard and a screen reader as well, and do not read a clean automated result as proof that a page is accessible.
